Difference Between Yoga Therapy and "Regular" Yoga?

A one-on-one session with Tracy more closely resembles an appointment with a physical therapist or rehabilitation specialist than it does a typical yoga class. What sets this healing modality apart from others is the focus on linking movement to deep, rhythmic breathing. Another difference is the emphasis on relaxation. In fact, when someone is gravely ill, Tracy may suggest that the entire practice consist only of breath awareness and relaxation until you are ready to tackle more. Then flexibility and stabilization options can be introduced, which may also include targeted myofascial release. Each session is customized to meet you where you are at for healing and growth.

A few things to know:

  • I work only with a handful of 1:1 clients at any one time, so I may not be immediately available.
  • All of my programs are customized. – ie. how often we meet, through what means (live and/or online), and for what length of time is decided together. However, the minimum commitment is 2 months. I can help you to become aware and reduce symptoms very quickly, and sustainable change requires practice over a period of time.
  • Why do clients keep coming back to me? Because I don’t merely talk about yoga with them. They return because they feel listened to, I am helping them solve their problem, and they are getting results.
  • My services are not typically covered by insurance, but may be covered under your health spending account or written off on your taxes. Please check with your accountant.
